Project Hindsight is operated by Surefoot, a sole proprietorship based in the United States. These terms are plain-English on purpose, because this is a small, solo-operated service, not a law firm’s idea of a contract. By creating an account or using Project Hindsight, you agree to them.
Project Hindsight is currently free to use. We may introduce paid plans in the future, in which case we’ll tell you clearly before charging you anything. We may also change, limit, or discontinue features at any time, including during the free early access period, though we’ll try to give notice when a change materially affects you.
You’re responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping access to your account secure. You must be able to form a binding contract to use the service (in most places, this means being at least 18, or the age of majority where you live).
You own everything you write, record, or otherwise put into Project Hindsight: your decisions, reviews, principles, and voice recordings. We don’t claim any ownership over it. We only use it to run the service for you: storing it, showing it back to you, sending you reminders about it, and (for Pro features) transcribing or analyzing it to help you review your own thinking. See our Privacy Policy for the details on how your data is handled.
Project Hindsight is a journaling and reflection tool. Nothing in the product, including any AI-generated prompts, summaries, or pattern insights, is financial, legal, medical, or other professional advice. You’re responsible for the decisions you make; we just help you remember why you made them.
Use Project Hindsight lawfully and don’t try to abuse, disrupt, or reverse engineer it, or use it to store or transmit content you don’t have the right to. We can suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service, threaten its availability, or violate these terms. We’ll generally try to warn you first unless the abuse is severe or ongoing.
Project Hindsight is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. As a free, solo-operated service, we can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or exactly what you need. We do our best to keep your data safe and the product working, but we can’t guarantee it. To the extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for damages arising from your use of the service.
You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time by emailing hello@projecthindsight.ai. We may also terminate accounts for abuse or extended inactivity, and if we ever shut the service down entirely, we’ll give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your data.
If we make material changes to these terms, we’ll update the effective date above and, where practical, let you know directly (e.g. by email). Continuing to use Project Hindsight after a change means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
